Sky Pencil Hollies

Field Grown in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Marion, NC
Ilex crenata 'Sky Pencil' was discovered in the wild on Mount Daisen, Honshu, Japan. The US National Arboretum introduced the plant in 1992. It is naturally narrow and fastigiate. Hardy to Zone 7. Mature height 10 feet and 2.5-3.0 wide at maturity. Lustrous, dark evergreen leaves.

We field plant single rooted cuttings. Many container growers plant two or more rooted cuttings in container. BEWARE!! The plants will look full when young and as they age the main leaders will separate or peel out.
For the long term, plant only field grown sky pencils.
